10 Days Lemosho Route Hike Kilimanjaro Itinerary offers an adventure along Mount Kilimanjaro via Lemosho Route. This 10 Days Lemosho Route Hike Kilimanjaro Itinerary is perfect for hikers interested in scenic views as they get to the highest point of the Mountain Uhuru Peak. 

The safari package gives you a chance to follow the scenic route with excellent acclimatization en-route which enhances you chances of getting to the summit.

The Hike takes you a distance of 70 kms (43 miles) to get to the top. The Hike to the Mountain along this Route starts at the Londorossi Gate situated at the Western Side of Kilimanjaro ending at the Mweka Gate (South Side). It offers hikers views of the terrain landscape, rainforest, Shira Plateau, Lava Tower, Barranco Wall and is less crowded.

Day 1: Arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport to Hotel

You arrive at the Kilimanjaro International Airport where you meet our company representative who takes you through a meet and greet session as well as information regarding the 10 Days Kilimanjaro Hike via Lemosho Route .

After the briefing session, he shall transfer you to the Gate where you are welcomed by rangers that inform you about Mountain Kilimanjaro, do and don’ts. Day 2: Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa Camp (Big Tree Camp)

You shall get to the Londorossi Gate where you arrange your luggage as well as prepare for the hike to the highest point of Africa at Uhuru Peak. You embark on a hike of 2,100 m to 2,650 m elevation for a distance of 6 kilometers (4 miles) for a period of 3 to 4 hours through Montane Rainforest.

You finish registration then in groups with lead park ranger guides, you shall trek through verdant green rainforest and views of the colobus monkeys. After a while, you shall proceed to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mti Mkubwa Camp

Day 3: Mti Mkubwa to Shira 1 Camp

Breakfast in the morning then proceed on trek through the forest vegetation for 8 kms/ 5 miles and a period of 5 to 6 hours in the moorland vegetation at an elevation of 2,650 m to 3,610 m.

You shall follow a steep ascent out of the green forest, through the Shira Plateau, Volcanic Crater and en-route, you have views of the Kibo Peak on a clear Day. After the hike, Dinner and Overnight at Shira 1 Camp.

Day 4: Shira 1 to Shira 2 Camp

Delicious morning breakfast then go on hike through vegetation to an elevation of 3,610 m to 3,850 m for a distance of 7 kms/ 4 Miles in 3 to 4 hours. Proceed through moorland vegetation enjoying views of the surrounding plains, forest vegetation, bird species etc.

En-route, you shall have acclimatization in the afternoon then proceed on hike till you reach the stunning Shira 2 Camp for Dinner and Overnight. Shira 2 Camp.

Day 5: Shira 2 to Lava Tower, then down to Barranco Camp

Breakfast in the morning then leave Shira 2 Camp to proceed to the Lava Tower to the elevation of 3,850 m to 4,630 m to 3,960 m for a distance of 10 kms/ 6.2 miles in 6 to 8 hours. You follow through the Alpine Desert to the Lava Tower where you experience (acclimatization at high altitude).

You shall have lunch at the Lava Tower then continue on descent to the Barranco Valley enjoying views of giant groundsels, unique plants. After a while, you shall continue to the Barranco Camp for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 6: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp (via Barranco Wall)

Breakfast in the morning then trek from Barranco Camp to the Karanga Camp via the Barranco Wall at an elevation of 3,960 m to 4,035 m for a distance of 5 kms/ 3 miles in 4 to 5 hours through the Alpine Desert.

You shall proceed as you scramble along the exceptional Barranco wall and you shall traverse ridges and valleys with beautiful panoramas till you reach the Karanga Camp for relaxation and acclimatization. Dinner and Overnight at Karana Camp.

Day 7: Karanga to Barafu Camp (Base Camp)

Breakfast in the morning then embark on trek from the Karanga Camp to an elevation of 4,035 m to 4,673 m in a distance of 4 kms/2.5 miles for 3 to 4 hours through the Alpine Desert. You continue on hike to the Barafu Camp where you reach and relax before the summit hike in the night to early morning. At Barafu Camp, you shall prepare Gear and your mind for the hike to the summit. Dinner and Overnight at Barafu Camp.

Day 8: SUMMIT DAY (from Barafu to Uhuru Peak), then down to Mweka Camp

Wake up have breakfast then proceed on elevation at 4,673 m to 5,895 m (Uhuru Peak) to 3,100 m for a period of 12 to 15 hours through moorland. You shall continue on hike at mid night or 2:00 am following steep ascents through the ridges, rocks.

The Hike is very challenging requiring you to be so determined to make it till the summit with lead rangers who guide you on what to do to get to the summit successfully. After a while, you shall reach stella point at (5,739 m) as the sun rises then leave there and get to the summit (Uhuru Peak) the highest point of Mountain Kilimanjaro and the Roof of Africa.

On reaching the summit, take many photos to keep and celebrate your victory. Later, embark on descent to the Mweka Camp via Barafu where you rest precisely. On reaching the Mweka Camp, you shall have Dinner and Overnight.

Day 9: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate

Breakfast in the morning then proceed from the Mweka Camp at an elevation of 3,100 m to 1,640 m in a distance of 10 kms / 6 miles for a period of 3 to 4 hours through the green Rainforest.

You shall descend through the verdant forest watching the stunning scenery till you reach Mweka Gate. When you get here, you shall receive your summit certificates then later transfer to Moshi or Arusha (Kilimanjaro International Airport) to board a flight back home.
